Sir Francis Drake was considered to be a hero, both physically and mentally during the Elizabethan era. Captain, Navigator and Politician Sir Francis Drake went through life with unexpected goals be achieved. With many disappointments and tragedies coming and going, Drake still continued his journey and do his homeland proud. In Drakes early years he participated in piracy and junkets. It is stated that the Hawkins connection got Drake a place on a 1566 slave-trading expedition to the cape verde islands and the Spanish Main (Byers 433). thusly later the author points out In 1569 Drake had married bloody shame Newman of Plymouth, but finding domesticity dull, he departed in 1570 for the Spanish Main with a small crew aboard the 25 ton Susan (Byers 433).
Drake soon got bigger responsibilities when Queen Elizabeth selected him to head an expedition to sail around the world. After much success and a return to England it wasnt long before he had a new fight on his hands. He was appointed ill-doing Admiral of the navy that began the attack on the Spanish Armada. July 30, 1588 the incline navy finally exchanged fire with the Armanda with Sir Francis leading them.
matchless week later the Armada was beaten, and Drakes future from then on proven anticlimactic (Byers 434).
On January 28,1596 Sir Francis Drake passed away from a tropical distemper called the bloody flux and was buried at sea the rattling next day. Unfortunately for Sir Francis Drake he had no kids to carry on his legacy, but it still lives on. Sir Francis Drake a loving husband, hard worker, and legend 1540-1596 R.I.P.
