Loss of a Childhood
The loss of a normal sisterhood is by removed the worst thing that could happen to a soul. A persons childhood is when the most knowledge is gained. It is also the cartridge clip when you let the least worries and fears, so you can live freely and express your emotions. In the myths I Am David, Empire of the Sun, and The boy in the Striped Pajamas, the main characters disjointed their childhood imputable to the effects of war.
In the novel I Am David by Anne Holm, the boy named David, who is the main protagonist, is taken as a child to live in a concentration camp. Since David was taken when he was only three years old, he did not acquire a normal childhood. Unlike the kids from the family he met, David did not place to run around and play pretend like they did. He also did not have any of his parents around, so he received no parental love and care that a person should have in their childhood years. Furthermore, David did not have the chance to speak his ideas or express his feelings like a child is supposed to, because he and all the other prisoners were ladened by the camp guards.
In Empire of the Sun, a novel by J. G. Ballard, Jamie has to live in a concentration camp.

In the camp, since his parents were not with him, he had no one to say goodnight to him or put him to bed. He also did not have someone to protect his innocence as a child; consequently, he go through all the horrible things a child should not see. For example he saw people die, starve, and do things they wouldnt normally do. These things ruin a persons childhood, and since Jamie experienced this for 3 or 4 years he would never get those years back.
There were two boys who lost their childhood due to war in the novel The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. In the novel, written by John Boyne, Shmuel lost his childhood because he had to live in concentration camp.
