Two Continents: connecting North and South American Art History
The Plains regions is known to the Sioux people as the home. The center flock of Mexico, called Mexico City is the birthplace of the Aztec Tribe. The history of internal American Art is dominant in both of these demographic regions. From the statues, to wall decor, to morphological architecture; art for the Native and Mesoamerican Indians was, is, and will unceasingly be a way of life. The Sioux Tribe and Aztec harness big differences, as swell up as share multiple similarities, well-nigh specifically in their traditions. An interesting fact on the Aztec Tribe is their name change. It is said to be that the original name of the Aztec was The Mexica, in their early days. But a name change was in order as the Mexica lacked a semblance of power and dominance. A theory never proven to be true.
The Mayan Indians also originated in Mexico and they too shared some of the same qualities as their cub Mesoamerican and Native Indians. The rise and fall of the Native and Mesoamerican Indians is written about in history books, as well as depicted in their respective art pieces. The regions envisioned in this paper will be The North American and South American Regions.
This paper will cover exposit of each tribe, their art history, their way of life, and compare and contrast these cardinal similar yet very different cultures. It will issue supporting documents and/or statements to the tune of how and why todays society, while controversial, still needs to learn about the Native and Mesoamerican Indian way.
