I was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Bristol, Pennsylvania; I was the only Indian family for miles. Raised amongst a white majority, I was the only Indian in set and the students open-handedly takeed to be my friends. With my Dad trying to get his college percentage point in computer science and my mom not having a job, things were hard. My parents always pushed me to be the best I can be and provided me with all the help I needed.
My dad did not want me to follow in his footsteps because he didnt care almost school and dropped out of college. When my dad arrived to America and had his first child, me, he realized that he needed to get a job and without a degree it proved to be very difficult. I always told myself that I am never going to give up and I will always hold my principal sum up high and be the best I can be.
The hardest challenge at such a young age was moving from city to city. Moving from Bristol, Pennsylvania to Edison, New jersey was the most shocking move I had ever made. Bristol was a city with majority blacks and white in comparison to Edison which seemed homogeneous the multicultural capital of the world.
